On September 18 and 19, researchers from various European universities met in Bremen to exchange ideas about their diverse current research at the workshop “Political Economy: Theory Meets Empirics”.
The workshop is part of an international workshop series that has been organized for many years by Sebastian Fehrler (University of Bremen), Maik T. Schneider (University of Graz), and Niall Hughes (King's College). This year, Torben Klarl (University of Bremen), Olexandr Nikolaychuk, and Markus Tepe (both DIFIS Research Field 6/ University of Bremen) were responsible for the local organization.
The two-day workshop covered many topics in political economy, such as the consequences of women's representation in political office, new findings from laboratory experiments and surveys on topics such as collaboration in committees and public support for the introduction of a climate dividend, as well as the influence of social media on political processes.
